The Invisible Work Behind the Visible Wins

Last week I wrote about how all progress is incremental.

Today, I am thinking about all the work that happens behind the scenes of life to make literally everything in life actually happen.

People always ask me things like, “How did you get to publish books? or “How did you start a podcast?”

Well, here’s a peek behind the curtain for you: everything I (and probably most other people) put out there is a culmination of years and years of experience, making connections, and doing the work.

For example: there is a TON of preparation behind the scenes when it comes to producing a podcast.

When you watch or listen to one of our episodes, you see two women laughing (and sometimes crying laughing due to my overactive tear ducts), interrupting each other, finishing each other’s thoughts, and one not getting the other’s sarcasm or jokes ever (guilty again).

But what you don’t see is the outline drafts, the voice notes back and forth, the “wait, that’s the real point” rewrites, the wrangling guests, not to mention the deep breaths before we hit record…all because we want these conversations to resonate with YOU.

Putting in the creative reps is growth in real time, so as I say all the time: keep the faith and keep following the breadcrumbs! They’ll eventually lead you to (all) the places you’re meant to go.
